In the context of technical co-operation between the Republic of India and the Federal Republic of Germany, two "tool rooms" - promotion and training centres for the production of tools, jigs and fixtures - were established in the early 1980s, one in Ludhiana, Punjab, and the other in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
The Small Industries Development Organisation (SIDO) on the Indian side and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GTZ) on the German side were commissioned to undertake the joint project implementation. |
